Join your work colleagues and master the art of human-powered watercraft racing in Preston.

That’s the call today from the North and Western Lancashire Chamber of Commerce ahead of the Preston Guild City Games.

Firms from across Lancashire can join fellow competitors on July 12 as they take to the waters of Europe’s largest inland docks to battle it out to earn the title of Dragon Boat Champions 2015.

The competition will take place across the day, with teams vying for victory.

The Chamber suggests a crew of 20 people for the team’s entry. They will supply you with a professional helmsman who will steer for you.

A spokesman said: “We’ll take care of all the arrangements, the boats, the order of racing, the necessary equipment, instructions and safety briefings. All you need to do is field a team and have a willingness to take home the trophy!

“You are welcome to bring along your own refreshments, banners and team gazebo (no larger than 6m x 3m).

“Please encourage non-competing members of your workplace to attend the event and cheer you on, it really does help.”

Email bid@lancschamber.co.uk to reserve your boat.

Please note, in order for your boat to be reserved, payment must be made the same day as your booking form is returned.

Only 20 boats are available. They sold exceptionally quickly in 2014. The cost per team is £525.00 + VAT.
