Catapult PR is seeking an ambitious film maker keen to have their work showcased on an international stage.
The Poulton-le-Fylde based consultancy is taking its book The Befana Drama and its sequel Capriccia’s Conundrum to the Children’s International Book Fair in Bologna and is keen to produce a ‘book trailer’ for the event.
The most important children’s book fair in the world, the Bologna fair is attended by international publishers, illustrators, film producers and more.
The Befana Drama does not yet have a book trailer, having only launched in October, and having been targeted largely at a UK audience.
Bologna on the horizon, and with the lead character in The Befana Drama, right, based on Italy’s traditional present bringer, Catapult have decided to make the trailer part of the global launch of the book.
The aim is to release the film to coincide with the opening of the Bologna book fair on March 24.
Catapult PR managing director Jane Hunt said: “This is an amazing opportunity for an ambitious film maker.
“They will have their work viewed globally, knowing also it will be part of a glitzy international launch.
“There will also be some payment, but that should be a secondary motive for wanting to make this film. The kudos should far outweigh monetary considerations and it will be a great thing to put on a CV.”
To register interest in making this film, please contact Jane Hunt on email@example.com to request a brief.
Interest must be registered by February 4 with a storyboard idea submitted by that date. The film needs to be finished by March 10 with the first rushes by February 28.
If Catapult gets the right response it might even commission two films – one for The Befana Drama and one for Capriccia’s Conundrum.
Whether or not the film maker can combine the two books into one film is for them to decide after receiving the brief.
The company say they are open to both dynamic and quirky approaches, so if you feel you can make a great book trailer – apply as soon as possible.
