Lancaster-based Samkar Limited is set to purchase Bridgeway, a care home in Preston for adults with learning and physical disabilities, following a £962,500 funding package from Santander Corporate and Commercial.

Sabe and Robert Connor, a married couple, are both directors and shareholders of Samkar. They currently own and operate a six-bed care home – Holywell Home – for adults with learning difficulties in Morecambe. In addition, Holywell Domiciliary Care Services supports people to live independently, from offices in Morecambe and Preston.

Sabe Connor has previously worked for Lancashire and Cumbria County Councils as a social worker. The funding package will provide for the acquisition and refurbishment of Bridgeway Care Home in Preston, which provides accommodation for 27 adults with learning and physical disabilities. Sabe Connor said: “We are thrilled to be able to acquire Bridgeway Care Home. The staff do a fantastic job in providing much needed care for adults with a range of disabilities and we are keen to be able to support their work and take the home to a new level of care provision.”
