Caravan park gets nod for longer visitor stays

editorial image

A caravan park has been allowed to let touring caravans stay longer, despite an objection.

Caravans at the Shorrocks Barn site in Back Lane, Weeton, were previously limited to 28-day stays, with no return within 48 hours of leaving.

The owners applied for the condition to be changed.

Weeton Parish Council objected to the variation as they thought it would make the site more
permanent.

However, Fylde Council’s planning committee agreed the condition can be altered, by adding the condition that only touring caravans can visit there and there should be no permanent residents.

Planners described the 28-day restriction as “unnecessary and unreasonable”.
