A reconstruction of an aggravated burglary will feature on Crimewatch tonight.
The programme, which airs tonight on BBC One at 9pm, renews the appeal for information following the burglary at a house in Samlesbury, near Preston, in August last year.
Jason Cropper, 48, was attacked in the grounds of his house on Goosefoot Lane by a group of men wearing balaclavas. He told the programme: “I thought they were here ti kill me. The one place that I cherish as being safe is my home.
“The one place I know that everybody else cherishes as being safe is there home - and it has destroyed that”
The offenders demanded to know where he kept his valuables and escaped with a substantial sum of cash, gold and a number of high value items of jewellery as well as other items.
They fled in Mr Cropper’s Range Rover, which was later found abandoned nearby
Det Insp Paddy O’Neill, who is leading the investigation said: “This was a vicious attack on a man in his own home that left him with nasty injuries and the investigation is still on-going. I would urge people to watch the programme tonight and to contact us if they know something that they think might assist us in identifying offenders and or recovering any of the stolen property
“It is worthy of note that the victim has offered a reward of up to £250,000 for information leading to the prosecution and conviction of offenders.”
Call police on 101.
