Building firm signs on with two unions

A building firm which is to carry out repairs at 6,500 homes in Preston has signed up with two trade unions.

Jackson Lloyd, which has opened an office on Croft Street in the city, has reached the trade union recognition agreement with United and the Union of Construction, Allied Trades and Technicians.

The Skelmersdale-based company has a five-year 23m deal to repair and maintain homes run by Community Gateway Association from Preston Council.

The 23m deal saw 66 former council employees transfer to Jackson Lloyd when it took over the work on April 1.
