A Lancashire building society has joined forces with a wealth management group to launch a new service.

Chorley Building Society has confirmed it has struck a deal with Shirebrook Wealth Management, which is also based in the Lancashire town, to offer its members market financial advice.

It said the agreement will allow its members to speak with a financial adviser on the issue of investments, retirement planning, protection and tax planning, in one of its branches.

Building society chief executive Stephen Penlington said the link-up was in response to requests from customers.

He said: “From speaking to our members we are aware that they often want help with financial planning but currently don’t know how best to find advisers they can trust.”

Martin Sumner, managing director at Shirebrook Wealth Management, said it had worked with the building society for a number of years before agreeing to formalise the arrangement.
