One of the North West’s leading house-builders is launching five new sites over the next 12 months, underpinning thousands of jobs.

Barratt Manchester Division, which is responsible for developments from Manchester up to Cumbria, plans to launch five new sites including Lancaster, and Cottam, Preston.

These developments will support around 2,100 jobs in building and selling the new homes. The housebuilder predominantly employs local sub-contractors and tradesmen – so workers and shops will benefit directly from the jobs.

Jason Newton, sales director at Barratt Manchester, said: “This translates into a significant boost for retailers at a time when concerns remain about the national financial picture.”
