Blind team joins cash campaign
Campaigners from Chorley have taken part in a blind protest at Parliament.
A team of demonstrators travelled to Westminster from Chorley to take part in the march to campaign for a change to the Disability Living Allowance (DLA).
Steven Cross, who is registered blind and lives in Chorley, was just one the campaigners who took part from the area.
Steven, who is guided by his dog Nemo, said: "The current wording of the allowance means that people who are blind or partially sighted are not classed as being physically disabled.
"This means that blind people aren't allowed to claim the same amount of money as a disabled person to help them get around.
"The march was about getting blind people out of the house by campaigning for a fairer deal. We are committed to the cause as the DLA is a lifeline for blind and partially sighted people."
Whilst at Parliament, Steven met Chorley MP Lindsay Hoyle who signed an early day motion to call for change.
Mr Hoyle said: "The protestors want a quality of life which we all expect."
