Blind bowlers are wizards of ten-pin world
Blind bowlers who train in Preston are the kingpins of the country after clinching a top British ten-pin title.
The Wyre Wizards 'A' team bowled over the competition to win the British Blind Sports Winter Fours Finals in Sheffield.
The four-strong team, who train at Lakeside Superbowl in Greenbank Street, won six games to take the title.
Team captain Natalie Shaw, 36, said: "What an achievement it was. This was the first year that we have all bowled together and to win the finals was a dream come true."
Team-mate Mark Gould, 50, said: "It was one of the best days of my life."
Bowlers use the help of a guide rails to set up their shots and "pin-spotters" – fully-sighted helpers – can be used to describe pin positions.
Natalie, Mark, and team-mates Peter Mansbridge, 69, and Janine Webster, 36, beat 30 other teams.
The Wyre Wizards 'B' team, captained by Natalie's husband Andy, 35, finished sixth.
