Lancashire’s Bishop, Rt Rev. Julian Henderson, is encouraging parishes and schools across the County to sign up and raise money for Christian Aid Week between May 11-17.

The Bishop’s call comes as the Archbishop of Canterbury Justin Welby releases a special YouTube video on the Diocese’s channel, to promote the annual event which raises around £12m each year.

Bishop Julian said: “The annual collection on behalf of Christian Aid is a chance to remind ourselves of the importance of any donation, however small, and what that can do when added together with everyone else’s totals from around the country.

“£12m is an amazing sum by anyone’s standards and I ask people to dig deep and go even further this year, so the work of Christian Aid can benefit as many people as possible in great need, both in this country and abroad.”
