Biker dies after crash with car
A motorcyclist has died following a collision with a car in Lancashire.
His white Honda motorbike collided with a black Vauxhall Vectra on Mellishaw Lane in Morecambe at 5pm on Tuesday.
He was taken to Royal Lancaster Infirmary but died shortly afterwards.
His name has not yet been released by police.
Mellishaw Lane was closed between the Wickes Roundabout and Whiteland Road for three-and-half-hours while accident investigation officers probed the scene, near the Volkswagen garage.
Sgt Nigel Ralphson, senior investigating officer, said: "This is a very serious road traffic collision and I would appeal for anyone who has any information to come forward and contact us.
"I am particularly keen to speak to a man in his 50s wearing glasses who stopped at the scene and spoke to staff at the VW garage. His information could be very important."
Anyone with any information is asked to contact Lancaster police on 01524 63333.
