A man was punched to the ground by a cyclist during an attempted mugging attack in Leyland.
The 37-year-old was confronted by two men on bikes on Bow Lane at around 7.05pm on Wednesday, February 11.
They demanded that he hand over his mobile phone, and the victim tried to push one of them away before the other man punched him in the face, knocking him to the ground.
Both men then cycled away empty handed.
The Leyland man, who was walking home when the incident happened, suffered a small cut to his lip.
Police are now appealing for witnesses or anyone with information.
One of the men was described as white, 5ft 8inch tall of a stocky build. He was wearing a grey or brown woollen knitted hat, dark coloured clothing and black shiny tracksuit bottoms.
The other man is described as white, 5ft 10inch tall of a medium build, with short dark brown hair and was thought to be wearing a black North Face jacket.
DC Dom Webster, of Skelmersdale CID, said: “We are keen to speak to anyone that may have witnessed the incident or has information about those responsible.”
