A 21-year-old man has been robbed of his bike during a street attack

Around 7pm on Monday, December 28, the man was cycling with a friend on Mariners Way opposite Morrisons petrol station when he was approached by a group of teenagers on bikes.

The group stopped the pair before an altercation started, during which the man was punched to the face, knocking him to the floor.

While on the ground the attacker threw his own bike in the docks, before taking the victim’s bike, a white Trek 3700.

The group then cycled off towards McDonalds, with the man suffering bruising to his face.

Police are urging anyone with information to contact them.

PC James Hesketh, of Preston Police, said: “This was a nasty attack which resulted in the theft of the victim’s bike.

“We are asking people to keep an eye out for friends who may have recently acquired a new bicycle similar to the one pictured.

“We are appealing to anyone with information to call police on 101 quoting crime reference SA1515189.”
