Baby antelope's name is just perfect

A baby African antelope born in a Lancashire zoo has been given a name.

The Bongo Antelope, born on March 11 at Blackpool Zoo, has been named, 'Kamili', the African word for 'perfection'.

Jude Rothwell, Communications Manager at Blackpool Zoo, said: "Kamili is doing really well. She is very healthy and is fitting in well with the rest of the antelope family here at the zoo. Blackpool Zoo now has seven of these magnificent creatures."

The African Bongo Antelope is the largest forest antelope. Both males and females have chestnut coloured fur with 12 to 14 narrow white stripes on their backs and spiral shaped horns.

They also have large ears and very acute hearing to help them detect predators in the wild.
