A beauty queen is set to star in a new Channel 5 series documenting her journey into motherhood.

Madison Mitchell, 19, was crowned Teen Miss Lancashire 2014, and began to persue a career in modelling before deciding to start a family with her partner David Dunn, 21 years her senior.

Now the couple, of The Beeches, Tarleton, along with six-week-old Joshua, will appear in an episode of Baby Faced Mums, hitting TV screens on September 7.

Madison, who grew up in Fulwood, said: “I was modelling a lot and had my own Facebook site, which the producers used to get in touch with me.

“They were interested in the age gap between me and David, but it was more about showing that teenage mums don’t deserve the reputation we get, we’re not just the stereotype.

“I’m definitely not one of those girls content to sit in front of Jeremy Kyle all day.” The film crew spent 40 hours with the expectant couple over four or five days, and then returned once Joshua was born.

Madison added: “They were filming all aspects of our lives and asking how the age gap worked for us.

“But it works well and we don’t feel like we’re any different.

“To us it’s just normal and we didn’t go on the show about that, we wanted to go on because it will be nice for Joshua to watch when he’s older.

“We don’t know what made the final cut, though, we’ll be watching at home like everyone else.

“It’s hard work being a mum but I’m loving it.”

Madison was working as an apprentice engineer and studying for a HNC at UClan’s Burnley campus when she represented her county at The Beauty of the UK Final in October 2014.

She then started a degree in events management and hopes to continue the course in September.
