What are you doing right now? If you are reading this on the computer how long have you been sitting there?

Much of the current media attention relating to exercise for health relates to exercise for weight loss and reducing heart disease.

However, in modern life many of us spend long periods of time in either a stationery position or repeating the same activity over and over again.

Watching TV, using a computer, playing on the X box.

We spend long periods of time surfing the net, often sat with computers on our laps, in very poor postures.

Sustaining these positions for long periods of time is potentially detrimental to the human skeleton.

The health of the skeleton is directly related to its ability to move.

">Current guidelines suggest that we should try to sit with a good posture and if we are doing repetitive activity or staying stationary for long periods then we should do a different activity for 10 minutes out of every hour.
