Ask the experts - morris dancing

Let the Royal Preston Morris Dancers show you how to twirl a molly or dance the polka.

Welcome to Ask the Experts, where you can learn how to do just about anything local people can demonstrate in a short film on lep.co.uk.

We Royal Preston Morris Dancers perform traditional North West Morris

dances from towns and villages in our area, accompanied by our own musicians.

We perform at local organised functions, on our own tours and 'dance-outs' and as guests of other Morris dancing teams. We have also been to Hungary and the Loire Valley in France through twin town invitations .

The team would welcome new members. No experience is required and there are no age limits.

If dancing is not your forte, you could join our band of musicians.

We tend to practise through the winter months and dance during the summer.

We try to dispel the rumous that Morris dancing is a hobby for older people wearing costumes; this couldn't be further from the truth.

The team enjoys an social life as a bonus.

It is an enjoyable and worthwhile hobby, with each individual benefiting in their own personal way, whether it be through the folk music which is closely linked to Morris dancing, or just on the basis of fun, friendship and fitness.

We would be able to accommodate any new members immediately.
