AN old Victorian Mill in the heart of Preston is looking for artists and designers to bring it to life.
Artisan Mill, in the old Primrose Mill at Primrose Hill, an art, craft and design gallery, is on the hunt for independent creatives to fill the space ahead of their opening in February.
And Michael Green, owner and manager of Artisan Mill said that he wants all kinds of new, and established artists to get involved.
“It’s not just about renting a space,” said Michael, “it’s about giving a platform to artists and designers who are happy to join a collective and advertise their work at trade shows and at open nights at the gallery.
“People are more than welcome to come and see the space and to apply to have their work considered, that said, we don’t want to put anyone off from getting in touch because it is not an elitist thing by any stretch of the imagination.”
Having started out after Glasgow School of art as an artist Michael exhibited around the UK for several years and always had the idea to create a platform to showcase and market the work of Lancashire artists, designers and makers.
He said: “We also have the idea of having an online platform where everything can be viewed and purchased which means a bigger audience for Artisan Mill and more exposure and customers for the artists and designers.
“We are more than happy for art groups to come and use the space for classes.
“It would be lovely to have new and upcoming artists use the space as well as those who are more established
