The attacker then made off from the scene

Officers have today (Monday, August 7) launched an appeal for information and are particularly keen to speak to a woman driver believed to have witnessed the attack.

Sgt Richard Horton, of Preston Police, said: “The drivers have had an altercation and one of the motorists has alleged he has been assaulted and his wing mirror damaged by the other man

“A woman in a red coloured vehicle was blocked by the two vehicles during the incident. We believe she might have seen what happened and are particularly keen to speak to her.

“Other drivers blocked by the vehicles may have also witnessed the assault.”
