Transport police are trying to trace the man in this photo after a bag was stolen from a train station.

It is thought the man may have travelled through Preston as he boarded a train to Blackpool.

The theft happened at Manchester Piccadilly station at around 11.40am on Tuesday, 25 November.

PC Brett Greenwood said: “The victim had left her handbag on a seat in the satellite lounge at the station.

“A man on his way to platform 14 saw the unattended bag, sat down next to it for a few minutes, before standing up and leaving with it. He then boarded the 11.46am service to Blackpool.”
