An X Factor dream came to an end last night as a Leyland singer’s group narrowly missed on a place in the final six.

Leyland 17-year-old Annabel Pike and her group Girl Next Door were subjected to a roller coaster of emotions by celebrity judge Louis Walsh as he dallied over his decision.

Following their performance, the singing contest judge sends them home, only to change him mind after riotous chanting from the audience.

But, with another girl group, Four of Diamonds, already awarded a seat and urban female trio Skarl3t delivering an impressive rendition of Jessie J’s Bang Bang, he ultimately lines up all three girl groups to choose between them.

Walsh struggled so much with his decision, fellow judge Sharon Osbourne loses patience and tells him: “Do it. Louis, come on.”

But it was ultimately bad news for Annabel and her band after Louis decided against them going to the next stage of the competition, judges’ houses.
