A scheme to encourage people in Lancaster to take pride in the appearance of their properties is showing positive results.
Lancaster Council has continued to look at properties in the centres of Lancaster and Morecambe, encouraging property owners to undertake important maintenance and repair work to their properties.
In turn this has helped to make the centres more appealing to local residents and visitors. Close to 50 properties have now completed works, with the majority having completed works on a voluntary basis.
Although Lancaster Council is urging residents and business owners to take responsibility for their properties voluntarily, it does have the ability to take enforcement action if the condition and appearance of their properties is considered to have an adverse affect on the amenity of the area.
