Work has been completed on a new children’s play and seating area in Warton.
Parish councillors began planning improvements for the site at the rear of the village community centre in 2009, and a donation from BAE Systems ensured the project took off.
Councillor Julie Brickles said: “The centre of the village has been behind the current community centre since the 1960s but it has been needing a revamp for some years now.
“I’m sure the children’s play area will be very appealing.”
In recognition of the area’s history, the equipment is designed to be like an airfield fire engine, and the USAF star is built into the safety surface.
Other equipment includes propeller spinners, an aircraft control panel and a G-force spinner.
Fylde mayor Linda Nulty will open the site in Lytham Road, at 1pm on Saturday, November 9.
