Families are being encouraged to pack up their picnics and head to Astley Park in Chorley on Sunday for an afternoon of entertainment.

Chorley Council has teamed up with Rock FM to bring a family stage show to the annual Picnic In The Park.

There will be performances from CBeebies’ The Rhyme Rocket, children’s entertainers, local bands and singers, dance acts, face painters, balloon modellers and more.

The Snow Sisters will perform hits from popular Disney movie Frozen.

The event, which starts at noon, will feature activities for children including sports, games, orienteering challenges, and arts and crafts.

And families can join a seven-mile Skyride bike ride, which sets off at 2pm. To book on the ride, visit goskyride.com/chorley.

Coun Peter Wilson said: “Picnic In The Park is a fantastic event and we’ve planned lots of activities throughout the afternoon, including three performances from CBeebies’ The Rhyme Rocket, a brilliant sing-along show from the Snow Sisters and some other local up-and-coming acts. There will also be several opportunities to meet the characters plus lots of great sports activities for everyone to have a go at.

“Come rain or shine, there will be lots going on between noon and 5pm to keep the little ones entertained, so pack up your picnic goodies and come and sing and dance along.”
