Adlington vigil tonight for Manchester victims
Guides in Adlington, near Chorley, are inviting the public to attend a special vigil this evening in memory of the victims of the Manchester bombing.
Gillian Whittle, leader in training with the 2nd Adlington St Paul’s Guides, said: “We just decided between ourselves we wanted to do something. We are meeting at 5.45pm at Adlington Cenotaph on Railway Road and we’re having a one minute silence at 6pm. We are asking people to bring candles to pay respect.”
She said that a lot of the guides attend Runshaw College, which was attended by the first victim to be named, 18 year old Georgina Callander from Tarleton and added: “As a community we are just doing it to show respect.”
