Children in Preston have been getting active at an after school sport and activity event.
Streetwise Sports Club runs every week at West View Climbing and Leisure Centre.
Children aged between eight and 14 can attend every Thursday between 4pm-6pm and take part in a range of sports and activities to keep them occupied and improve their health.
Coun Robert Boswell, cabinet member for community and environment, has praised the sessions. He said: “This is an excellent opportunity for local children to keep active and learn new skills.
“The Streetwise Sports Club offers parents a safe environment for their children to take part in sports and keeps them occupied after school and during the half term holidays.”
The sessions are staffed by fully qualified coaches and include swimming, football, climbing, and dodgeball, along with other sports.
This means the children can practice an activity they love already, or it’s a chance for them to try something new.
