Madchester heroes The Charlatans are to play at 53 Degrees.
The indie five-piece, led by Tim Burgess, above, will perform at the Preston venue on Friday, October 17.

Tickets go on sale soon. The gig follows other high profile gigs this year by Stone Roses star Ian Brown and Mercury Prize winner, Dizzee Rascal, both of which sold out.

Ian Brown attracted a load of Manc wannabees who were smashed out of their heads all night, just like their Manc heros used to be.
