Well done LEP we talk about Proud Preston the local council should use this slogan. It is about time the residents of this city started taking an active interest.Every resident of this City should be constantly reminded of taking pride in it. And this should be aimed at litter droppers dog foulers fly tippers and above all graffiti. I propose publically publishing offenders names in the paper, and a minimum fine of £1000

Not much shame in showing everyone the back of your head. It would have been more effective to turn them round so we could see their faces.
Also, name them, and fine their parents, who obviously neither knew nor cared what their sons and daughers were doing or where they were late at night.
#2: Actually, if they did this to a mosque in Saudi, they'd have their hands chopped off. Rough justice maybe, but they'd never spray graffiti again...

Well said forgot to mention also city planners and most of the inept lack of vision council and all the other wanna bees birch the lot of em !They only care about making their grubby little money out of Preston and care nothing about this city and its once proud heritage. Liverpool is not a pretty city to put it mildly but look at the pride their residents have. Time for action great comment.

time for action .......you seem to forget this is ENGLAND
if you want saudi law get on a plane and go live there
talking about choping childrens hands off because their parents dont know/care what they are doing lol you need to give your head a shake
when you book your ticket to saudi please take as many idiots as you can that share your views on our children please
remember this is ENGLAND not saudi or iraq or anywhere else where children are a comodity
in fact we should put you on the first plane out of here for instigating cruelty against minors that is abuse and you dont deserve a place in uk society
take your hand chopping comments to a country where people agree with you

Now now, calm down. Free country and opinions etc, etc,.
The way publically shaming these young adults I feel has been done very well. To show their faces, and name them etc, only encourages people who hold a grudge to track them down etc, you know ... nutters!
Keep Preston Proud, and safe.

I agree with very concerned and AndrewJM - the comments made were way over the top - these were kids doint what kids do - theyve been caught and theyre being punished - I'm approaching 50 and I remember doing graffiti! Some people are obviously 'perfect' people living 'perfect' lives with their 'perfect' kids -How boring! Yawn!
PS. As a regular visitor to Liverpool I'm wondering why if the residents are so proud of their city they let their dogs foul the pavements everywhere - the streets really are full of it!

Yeah, I remember 'tagging' the odd wall and bus seat. I used to write Cartz Woz Ere! lol or sometimes the name of our break dance crew... New Power Soul Central.

#5 very concerned:
Please give your own head a shake. Then go back to school to learn about reading, writing, punctuation, grammar, and COMPREHENSION.
I did not say I wanted Saudi law in the UK. I simply outlined what would happen to graffiti sprayers in Saudi.
Nor did I say I wanted childrens hands "choping off" because parents don't know/care what they are doing. And I am well aware that children are not a "comodity." This is your misinterpretation of the words, and simply underlines the fact that you are ignorant and cannot spell.
You have also made yourself believe I am instigating cruelty against minors. If you actually READ the words, you will see this is not the case. Or maybe you just don't understand the words.
May I suggest you direct your criticism towards those who mention the birch. There is no doubt that they are calling for its return. Maybe you didn't read that comment properly either.
