A round-up of news in brief from across Lancashire.
Cyclist in collision
A cyclist suffered minor injuries after being involved in a collision with a van.
The incident happened at the junction of Marsh Lane with Bow Lane, Preston, at around 9.30am yesterday.
The police said the road was briefly blocked and the cyclist suffered only "minor injuries".

New police station oficially opened
The city's new police station was being officially opened today.
Mayor Keith Sedgewick and his wife and mayoress Patricia were expected to attend the Lancaster Road North HQ.
It replaces the out-dated, eight-storey Lawson Street station which closed in March.

Age Concern help appeal
Volunteers are needed to help out in an Age Concern shop.
People are being recruited to join the Bamber Bridge store, near Preston, on Saturday afternoons.

Fresh idea
Get some fresh air and exercise at a Garstang Monday Walk.
The next event will take place on July 6, starting from the Garstang Discovery Centre, in High Street, Garstang, from 10am to 1pm. Tickets cost £3 for adults and £2 for concessions. For details call 01995 602125.

Tea for you
Enjoy some afternoon tea and a service at a Lancashire church.
There will be a service at St Peter's Church Vicarage, in Scorton, near Preston, on Sunday at 11am and teas will be served from 12.30pm to 6pm.

Swoop in to hall show
Birds of prey will be swooping into a Lancashire landmark this weekend.
An owls and hawks roadshow takes place at Samlesbury Hall, near Preston, on Sunday and on the first Sunday of every month for a special display.
There will also be a chance to see the Trawden Owls in residence between 11am and 3pm and to learn how to hold and handle the birds.

Dance the night away
Get your glad rags on for a rock 'n' roll night to raise money for charity.
The event will take place at St Anthony's Social Centre, in St Anthony's Drive, Fulwood, on Saturday, July 11, to raise money for the Chloe Angel Charity Appeal.
It starts at 7.30pm and tickets cost £10, including supper.

History tour at the Hall
Henry VIII will be leading tours around Samlesbury Hall this weekend.
The "King" will be running his royal tours between 11am and 3pm on Sunday.
The tour is included in the £3 admission fee to the hall. Ring 01254 812010.

On the hunt for wildlife
Youngsters are invited to go searching for wildlife during a fun activity day.
A mini beast hunt will take place on Wednesday July 22, from 10.30am to noon at the Longton Brickcroft Visitors Centre, in
Liverpool Road, Longton. Places cost £1 per child, call 01772 611497 to book.

Have you won on Premium Bonds?
More than £600,000 of Premium Bond prizes are sitting unclaimed in Lancashire.
National Savings and Investments revealed that a man in the county, who has asked not to be named, has become the 11th jackpot winner from Lancashire in this month's draw.
But, there are also 10,300 unclaimed prizes in total worth £604,550 yet to be picked up.
