A star of a racy nude calendar vowed to get his kit off again to raise money for a lifesaving charity despite it sparking an angry row.
A risque calendar showing models posing nude intended to raise a smile and funds for the North West Air Ambulance.

But the saucy £5 Bare In The Air calendars have been banned from ambulance stations across the region after furious paramedics from the North West Ambulance Service (NWAS) claimed it damages their integrity and dignity at work.

Granada TV presenter Paul Crone, who uses a first aid box to cover his modesty to star as Mr December, today hit back.
He said: "I respect their views but I am convinced we have not upset anyone's integrity whatsoever.

"I've spoken to people who are in the calendar and not one regrets doing it. If taking my kit off saves someone's life then I'll do it again.

"I am sorry some organisations have banned it and we don't want to upset paramedics. There is no question that we value what they do.
"But no-one was wearing a badge saying 'I'm a paramedic' on it."

A total of 28 volunteers – members of the public, air ambulance staff and even the helicopter pilot – agreed to pose nude with parts of the aircraft and a variety of strategically-placed props.

I bet the North west Ambulance service wont be refusing the donations though. Its yet another example of political correctness gone mad. I can only assume from now on they will be banning the Sun nd Star newspapers from their premises.

It does damage their integrity.
Its bad enough that they need to raise funds through charity, can you imagine if the police had to do the same!?! They would be a laughing stock on the streets.

Very poorly thought out but the best intention.

When Julie Treharne, Acting Area Communications and PPI Lead (Cheshire and Merseyside) issued a memo to all North West Ambulance staff on 1st October advising them to decline to get involved with the calendar she must have clearly forgotten that 3/4 years ago Merseyside Paramedics produced their own nude calendar, in and around their premises with their equipment. Unlike the Air Ambulance their calendar was only for sale internally. Do as I say not as I do. What charity did they support?

It should be the MOD Ministers posing for nude calendars in order to raise money for the new Trident Fleet and the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.

I wonder how much they would raise.

if it sells calendars and raises funds, who cares what the content is?
