Preston is hosting the first ever Aquasplash festival on Monday at West View Leisure centre.
Aquasplash is an aquatic festival aimed at 5-11 year olds and promises to provide entertainment across the board for both swimmers and non-swimmers.
Participants will be competing against each other over five activities, including speed, agility and strength.
A number of schools have been invited to take part.
They include Brookfield County Primary School, Brockholes Wood Community Primary School, Preston St Matthew's Church of England Primary School and St Stephen's Church of England Primary School.
The winning school will receive a trophy for their cabinet as well as T-shirts and goodie bags.
Coun Christine Thomas, cabinet minister for community services, said: "The festival is a fantastic way of celebrating the continuing success of school swimming in the city."
The event is supported by the Amateur Swimming Association along with Preston Swimming club. It starts at 1.30pm and is expected to run until 3pm.
