Severe weather conditions affected drivers on Lancashire's roads on Tuesday.
Lancashire ambulance service confirmed that ice and snow caused several minor road collisions across the county.

The Met Office issued a severe weather warning for the North West between 3am and 11am, advising people to be prepared for widespread icy roads and heavy snow.

Matrix signs along the M6 and M61 instructed drivers to slow down due to hazardous driving conditions caused by snow and poor visibility.

Motorists were advised to approach the M6, between junction 34 at Lancaster and the M62, with care due to ice on the roads.

A number of school across Lancashire have also been closed due to the weather conditions.

Why does it never snow in Preston - everywhere else is white, white, white and Preston - grey as usual.

I know! I keep looking up from my work hoping there's snow. How depressing :-(

I commute to Bolton via A675 over the hills. I got stuck for hours in the snow. I eventually came home after two hours but the scenery from the hills was beautiful.
