A skateboarding festival due to take place on Saturday has been axed because of heavy rain.
Organisers were forced to cancel the Longridge Skateboarding Championships 2008 after overnight rain made the course unsafe.

Sarah Hicks, who helped organise the event, said: "Even if we had a few hours of sun it would not be safe enough to compete.

"The kids are pushing themselves so hard it would have been dangerous in those conditions."

The event will be re-arranged for a later date - log on to www.tranceplant.co.uk for more information.
