Detectives investigating the murder of David Cornall in Preston have arrested a 21-year-old man.
He was arrested on Sharoe Green Lane in Preston on Tuesday evening.

The man, who has not been named, was questioned on suspicion of the murder of Mr Cornall and released on police bail pending further inquiries until April 9.

One man, Liam Cromie, 20, of Waldon Street, Preston, has already been charged with Mr Cornall's murder.

Five other men - aged 15, 17, 18, 20 and 22 - are currently on police bail following a series of arrests in the Callon estate earlier this month.

David, 30, was fatally stabbed in the back as he made his way to his Ribbleton home from the pub on Tuesday February 12.

Det Supt Steve Brunskill, who is leading the investigation, said: "I am grateful to those members of the community who have assisted us so far and I would ask those who have been reluctant to get involved to contact us now."

Earlier this month officers revealed they had found what they believe to be the murder weapon and that they have managed to trace one of two women they wanted to speak to.

And police have released CCTV of the two potential witnesses who were walking along New Hall Lane in the vicinity of Ribbleton Park at around 10.20pm on the night Mr Cornall was murdered.

Anyone with any information should contact police on 01772 203 203 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
