Schools, streets and homes across Preston and the rest of Lancashire have been badly hit by the wet weather. Here is an at-a-glance guide to the main services affected on Monday.
School closures* Lea St Mary's Catholic Primary School is closed all day because of flooding on access roads to the school.
* Fulwood High School and Arts College were closed to all pupils except those in Year 11 after floodin
g on a roof over the school's main entrance hall.
* Lostock Hall Community High School and The Coppice Special School in Bamber Bridge were both closed.
* Pupils at St Francis The Hill Catholic Primary in Goosnargh, Preston, were sent home at lunchtime due to rising water levels.
* Hillside Special School in Longridge was closed due to a flood and lack of heating.
* Out Rawcliffe CE Primary was closed due to a flood and Calder Vale St John's CE Primary was flooded and had no heating.
* St Mary Magdalene Catholic Primary School, Penwortham, has been evacuated due to the threat of flooding
Road closures* Lancashire County Council has closed the B5259 Moss Side Lane at Wrea Green between Wrea Green and Moss Side. The authority's highways team took the decision after rising water levels in the surrounding fields made the road impassable.
An alternative route is available from Wrea Green along Brynning Lane/Church Road towards Warton, taking the A584 towards Lytham at the Warton traffic lights.
* The A59 roundabout at New Longton is impassable due to flooding.
Rail closures* The West Coast Mainline is closed between Lancaster and Preston due to flooding on the railway line at Oubeck, Barton and Broughton.
Trains from Scotland are being terminated at Lancaster, while services from Birmingham and London are finishing at Preston. Coaches are being organised to take passengers between Preston and Lancaster, Network Rail said.
* A spokesman for Lancashire County Council said: "There is a lot of isolated flooding across the county, particularly in the Fylde and Lancaster."
Surface water on the A6 Walton-Le-Dale Bamber Bridge by-pass near the junction with the M6 has caused heavy traffic jams and drivers should avoid the area if possible.
