People living in the shadow of Preston North End's new stand fear children will have to dodge traffic on its new car park to get to school.
Residents on St Gregory's Road believe the width of the entrance which people visiting the club's new Invincibles Stand and health centre will have to drive through means children at nearby Deepdale County Primary School could struggle to cross it.
They are calling on developers and Preston Council to move the island in the middle of the entrance to make it safer to cross.
But council planning officials insist a full safety check was carried out before work was given approval two years ago.
One resident said that when work began on the entrance last month it came as a shock to people living nearby who had not been told there was to be a new entrance.
He said: "We were told there would be an increase to the parking, but no-one said anything about an entrance and they did not tell us it would be as wide as it is.
"Every morning and afternoon there are a lot of children coming back and forth from the school and now they are going to have to dodge in and out of the traffic."
Coun Terry Cartwright, who represents Deepdale, said he had spoken with Town Hall planners about getting the traffic island moved.
He said: "It is too far into the car park as it is now, the kids will have to walk along the road just to get in it, the whole thing needs moving."
A spokesman for Preston North End said that architects Frank Whittle Partnership had taken residents' views into account when drawing up plans for the development.
