"He wore a black tracksuit top and trousers and was around 5ft 8in. His accomplice, who had the spanner, also wore a black tracksuit"
The uniform of the Preston gang's...People need to wise up and be aware. Avoid young men in black sports gear, its no joke.

Cant see what difference it would have made if he was aware of the "uniform of the Preston gangs". At the end of the day, he was on his own & confronted by these two cowards who knew he had no chance to defend himself. I hope these two scum are found , brought to justice & the poor guy gets his uppy back. Somehow I doubt it

Buckshawwhite, these scum bags will never be brought to justice and that is the problem. So much for the governments zero tolerance on crime. This country is and continues to be a joke. There is total anarchy out there, where increasingly more young people don't care about anything at all. It makes me sick.

While it's a terrible thing to have happened - why was such a young puppy not still with its mum? It's recommended that they stay with their mum until a minimum of eight weeks old...

Alas 'aj', you are right. Until comparable gangs of vigilantes (sorry ... I obviously meant, 'concerned and interested citizens'... :) ... ) begin patrolling Avenham, Miller, Moor, etc, Parks, nothing will ever change. I recall seeing a hint of such an eventuality in the LEP a few weeks ago ... what was the outcome of that? It would be lovely to imagine a day when these parks were utterly free of such terrorism, but it is not going to happen. Neither the police nor council have the power and/or desire to invest in anything which will make the parks safe. It is simply not going to happen. It is folly to think otherwise, so we either do something about it ourselves, or accept that that is that way it is (which, I suspect, is what will happen). Depressing, but that's it.

Buckshawwhite - having been assaulted by these gangs in the past my advice is be aware, don't get close (cross over if necassary) and never enter conversation (usually "got a cigerette mate")
Instead of pathetic anti drink spiking campaigns, bring back pocket "rape" alarms for men and women)

Let's meet under the old railway bridge at 10pm tonight and draw up a plan of action. Bags me Charles Bronson.

Whilst the police concentrate the majority of their resources on persecuting motorists for minor offences & bringing in extra revenue instead of patrolling these black spot areas. There will always be no go areas like Avenham Moork Park etc where feral like behaviour persists & decent law abiding people dare not tread.. I was recently approached in broad daylight by a sub human pondlife in Friargate & was asked "got a cigarette mate". When I replied that I had but wasnt going to give him one because they were mine he did try to get aggresive but soon backed down because he didnt have his chums with him. Surely a good case for building anothe Alcatraz in Preston Docks!
