A popular headteacher has bid farewell to pupils at Longridge High School.
Alan Lewis, who has been head of the Preston Road school for 16 years, and deputy head for six years before that, will retire at the end of this term.

He said: "I am looking forward to the future but am extremely sad, as this is such a great place and a great job. I have thoroughly enjoyed it. The kids are fantastic and so are the staff.

"Now I'm going to go and see my own kids a bit more, down in London, and do some travelling."
