A toddler let himself out of his home at 3am and went walking for a mile and a half - to buy some sweets.
Police have confirmed that three-year-old Max McGrath, from Longridge, donned his brother's shoes and collected the key before walking to a Somerfield store.
He left the front door of his Berry Lane home wide open and trotted off to find a shop that was open.
Max was eventually spotted by a delivery driver, who alerted the police.
He was eventually reunited with his family - who were still oblivious to his disappearance - at 4am.
Lancashire Police said they were called to a child who had been found by a member of the public.
