The Lancashire Evening Post is presenting an alternative "Royle" Christmas message on video again this year - courtesy of two panto stars.
Lancashire entertainers Steve Royle and Martin Pemberton have teamed up to deliver something definitely different to what the British Monarch has been doing every Christmas Day for more than 70 years.

Steve, an actor, writer, juggler and radio presenter, gave the seasonal message on his own in 2006.

Now he has enlisted the help of Slaughterhouse Live comedy group partner Martin who, among his many talents, is a freelance stuntman and actor, and performs every summer as Jess the Jester at the Camelot Theme Park in Chorley.

And the result of this deadly double act is a humorous - and sometimes irreverent - take on some of the people and events to have hit the headlines over the past 12 months.

Click on the green icon above right to see a brief preview of our very own 'Royle' speech.

And don't forget to log on to lep.co.uk on Christmas Day itself to view the full extended version, hours before Her Majesty herself addresses the nation and the Commonwealth.

Both Steve and Martin are currently appearing as Silly Billy in different pantomines.

Martin is making his festive debut in Jack and the Beanstalk at Preston Guild Hall's Charter Theatre, while Steve is appearing in his fifth successive panto season - in Sleeping Beauty at Blackpool's Grand Theatre.
