Paedophile lived near children's playground

This is the chilling view a paedophile had of a children's playground just 100 yards from his front window in Preston.
Today, furious residents demanded answers after pervert Andrew Galeney was allowed to live within touching distance of children, despite being on the Sex Offenders Register.
Galeney, 45, was convicted in 1999 for possessing images of children as young as five. Galeney, described by police as "disturbed and dangerous," was ordered to sign the Sex Offenders Register for five years but remained living at the first-floor flat in Beacon Lodge, Ribbleton.
Preston Grange Primary School, which has 108 pupils under the age of 11, is also just yards away in Grange Avenue.
Outraged mum Stella Sansom, who lived in the flat below Galeney for eight years until he was arrested in January in front of TV cameras from Crimewatch, said today: "What really knocked me sick was the police describing him as dangerous.
"I thought if that's what he is then why were we not told?"
Galeney was exposed in the Evening Post last week after he used public computers in Harris and Ribbleton Libraries to download and distribute sickening images.
The unemployed loner pleaded guilty to a catalogue of offences relating to indecent images of children.
Mum-of-one Miss Sansom, 28, said Galeney used to befriend her five-year-old daughter Lucy.
She said: "I think it is absolutely disgusting. The most shocking thing is he has put himself in the same street as a school and a playground – we only found out when we saw it on Crimewatch.
"That's what angers me most he has previous and he was still allowed to live here. We had to constantly watch them; he was always loitering around the garden."
A Lancashire Police spokesperson said: "Andrew Galeney was residing at the address on Beacon Lodge while he was on the Sex Offenders' Register which expired in November 2003.
"At the time he was closely monitored by police officers managing such offenders on the register. No legal power was available at the time to prevent him from residing at Beacon Lodge."
Galeney, who used to work at Royal Preston Hospital, appeared at Preston Crown Court and will be dealt with on Friday.
The court heard how Galeney had admitted to police he fantasised about murder, torture and told officers he printed off sickening paedophilic stories from computers in two Preston libraries.
Francis McEntee, prosecuting, said a probe into a Canadian paedophile had shown Galeney, posing under pseudonyms, had shared at least 11 e-mails.
