A PA announcer could be in trouble with Preston North End football fans after denying them the chance to welcome back former captain Graham Alexander who is now at Burnley.
Both PNE and Burnley fans flooded a radio phone-in on Saturday complaining Deepdale PA man Adam Catterall, a North End supporter, only read out the names of the Preston team as they entered the pitch before Saturday's derby clash.
North End's 2-1 win was the first time former captain Graham Alexander had played at Deepdale since his transfer to Turf Moor in August, with many home fans wanting to give him a standing ovation.
But Ben Rhodes, PNE's general manager, said the Rock FM Breakfast Show presenter had done nothing different to any other home game.
He said: "He always read the away team out first then the home team after they have come out.
"He did it exactly the same way as they always do."
Catterall has faced the FA before after making a controversial comment about referee Uriah Rennie over the PA in 2006.
