A 51-year-old man arrested after the death of a social care worker in Lancashire has been detained in secure accommodation under the Mental Health Act.
Police said the man was being held under section two of the Act for psychiatric assessment.

It is understood a doctor will assess the man, who was arrested on suspicion of murder, before he is interviewed. The man arrested is understood to be called Robert though his surname is unknown at this stage.

Father-of-three Philip Ellison, 47, of Penwortham near Preston, was stabbed to death while visiting a home in Fulwood.

A police spokesman said the property on Glebe Close, where the incident took place, was still an active crime scene.
