A mum-of-two stabbed to death at her home used to live in Preston.
Katie Summers, known locally as Katie Boardman, was found by police at the house in Masefield Drive, Farnworth, Greater Manchester, on Thursday.
A spokesman for Greater Manchester Police confirmed Miss Summers lived in Preston for three years between 2004 and 2007 before moving to Bolton.
She had two young boys, aged three and two.

She was a bubbly person, fun to be with and extremely generous."
They added: "Katie's family were her life. What has happened has taken away our chance to hold her and to tell her that we loved her.
"She had a particular gift when it came to children - they all loved her and she had the ability to come down to a child's level and communicate with them. She also loved to dance.
"We were all extremely proud of Katie, particularly recently as she had been very strong and had ended a difficult relationship.
"Katie had just gained the confidence and self-belief to begin a new chapter in her life."
Miss Summers' body was discovered at 10.30am on Thursday after police were called to a report of a woman being stabbed.
Neighbours said she had lived in Masefield Drive for just a few weeks.
Brian Taylor, 29, of Irwell Avnue, Little Hulton, has been charged with murder. He is due to appear before Bolton Magistrates on Monday morning.
