Preston teenager Maryi Razaq, who has been missing for a week, was found safe and well on Tuesday, police said.
Detectives probing the disappearance of the 15-year-old Moor Park High School pupil found her in Oldham at around 2pm on May 20.

She is now being "debriefed" by officers who are trying to find out her movements and where she has been staying.

It is understood she has not yet been reunited with her family, of Chester Road, Deepdale, Preston.

Det Insp Dave McKenna, who led the investigation, said: "We have found Maryi safe and well. She was distressed but is unharmed.

"The family is delighted and relieved."

He said he was unable to go into further detail about how she was found.

Ten detectives were assigned to work on the case after it emerged she had been using telephone chatlines.

The student, who had never been missing before, was captured on residential CCTV shortly after going missing at 9.02pm last Tuesday, May 13.

Maryi was found after officers circulated pictures of her to colleagues in the Greater Manchester force.

Mark Rowley, assistant headteacher at Moor Park High School said: "We are very relieved. A lot of Maryi's friends and our teaching staff were very worried about her. It is great news.

"We hope when she eventually returns to school we can be of support to her."
