A miracle baby is officially the cutest kid in town, after winning the Lancashire Evening Post's Cute Kids competition.
Eleven-month-old Madison Anne Keane was one of five cutest kids voted for by readers, and voted overall winner by a panel of judges.

Mum Joanne Davies, 31, overcame huge odds to have her baby last year, after she was diagnosed with kidney failure and told she could never have children by her renal consultant.

She said: "At six weeks my consultant said I should consider terminating her. But I said it is not even an option."

Joanne was monitored closely through her pregnancy and gave birth by Caesarian five weeks early.

She believes Madison "takes after her dad", who won a baby competition in Cheshire when he was a baby.

Runners up were Jessica Wane in the 0-18 month category, Oliver Burke, in 18 month-three years, and Luke Shuttleworth-Evans, three-five years.

Over 800 babies and young children entered the competition – and were photographed by The Portrait Group in a virtual studio set up inside the Mall, Preston.

All five finalists in each category received a portrait by the Portrait group.

I'm sure the hard working medical staff will be delighted to know all their efforts were little more than a side show to the "miracle" that was taking place.
Enough miracles LEP, have some respect for our doctors and nurses
