A plumber stole a cheque and used it to buy a car.
Amir Sajjada was caught out when the cheque bounced and the irate BMW owner demanded the defendant return his car, which he did.

Sajjada, 31, formerly of Holmefield Road, St Annes, now living at Westway, Freckleton, pleaded guilty to theft and fra
ud.

Blackpool magistrates sentenced him to four weeks' imprisonment, suspended for 12 months, and put him on a curfew for one month during which he will be tagged and must remain inside his home between 8pm and 8am.

Sajjada was on a suspended prison sentence and supervision by the probation service, imposed this January for stealing a cheque from his grandmother's partner and making it out for about £2,000.
