Man seriously hurt in bike accident

A man was taken to hospital with serious head injuries after coming off his crosser bike on a private road in Lancashire.
The accident happened off Tabley Lane in Higher Bartle near Preston at 12.10pm on Thursday.

A spokesman for Lancashire Police said: "The male was conscious but was reported to have significant head injuries."

The road was closed between Sandy Lane and Hoyles Lane, while accident investigators attended the scene, and was expected to reopen by 3pm.
