A man was taken to hospital after plunging from Preston Bus Station.
The drama unfolded shortly before 5pm on Tuesday as a 28-year-old man dropped from the first floor of the station after a woman, believed to be his girlfriend, clung on to both his arms.

The man, from Preston, was taken to the Royal Preston Hospital shortly after 4.48pm on Tuesday suffering a broken ankle and foot as well as cuts to the back of his head.

He was due to remain in hospital over night but his injuries are not being treated as serious.

Leon Gibbs, 38, a Preston Bus driver, from Ribbleton, witnessed the dramatic fall as he pulled into the bus station.

He said: "The girl was holding onto him with two hands - I thought she was going to go over with him.

"While she had hold of him it looked like she could not pull him up - she was a lot smaller."

A witness who was inside the bus station when the incident took place, said: "I saw a pair of legs dangling down.

"I think his babe had hold of him then I saw him drop - he was knocked out.

"I heard the crack."

A spokesman for Lancashire Police, said: "A woman we believe to be his partner tried to grab him as he fell.

"He is going to be kept in hospital over night but he is expected to be released tomorrow."

Police re-opened the bus station at approximately 5.15pm on Tuesday.
